The Passing of a Legend
I join the community of fans who are mourning the passing of John Madden at the age of 85 on December 28, 2021.
I noted John in my book, saying:
“I remember very well playing against the Raiders, a colorful crew coached by a young John Madden. I greatly admired him then and in later years as an NFL color commentator.”
This sad end to 2021 is brightened by the legacy he left behind. John is dearly missed and the world has weighed in on this great loss. Sports Illustrated posted wonderful tributes here and here.
So did Fox 6, NPR, CBS, the New York Times, and numerous other media.
Ivette and I extend our deepest sympathy to the Madden family and those who admired john.
